Coring started on the greens on Monday 6th March, using our existing equipment, but had to be stopped on Wednesday 8th due to extremely wet ground conditions.
The work was started using our existing equipment as regrettably delivery of our new Sweep N Fill brush was delayed.
Work resumed on Monday 13th March, with coring and sanding continuing.
Our Past Captain Des, secured a borrowed Sweep N Fill Brush through our suppliers, which arrived on Tuesday 14th. I am pleased to say I have seen the Brush in action and our Head Greenkeeper confirms that this equipment will result in a far better and more efficient application of sand to the greens. Further applications of sand are planned, which should result in a much improved putting surface. A video of the Brush in action has been posted on Caldwell’s Facebook page.
