7/10/2011 - The re-arranged charity Pro-Am was held on Friday 30th September. The event was won by Graham Fox (Rowallan Castle) with a 65. Past Managing Secretary, Kenny Morrison and his team took the team event with a score of 124. Overall the amount raised for CHAS was £3826.06. A fantastic amount, our thanks go to everyone who contributed. A big thank you to Craig, Chris and Hilda who's hard work made all of this happen.

28/9/2011 - 3 Courtesy fourballs have been kindly allocated to us at Paisley Golf Club this Friday. Please contact the Managing Secretary for details about how to book a tee time.

22/9/2011 - Members are reminded that trolleys of any kind and parts of trolleys are not allowed in the locker rooms at anytime. Trolleys found in the locker rooms will be removed.

8/9/2011 - Please note that from 6.00pm on Monday 12th September the BRS Tee Booking System will go live to all for Gents competitions. This means all registered members can log-in externally from 6.00pm to reserve a competition tee-off time. We hope that by introducing this change at the quieter tail end of the season, it will highlight any problems which can be ironed out before next season.

5/9/2011 - Sadly the Caldwell team of Brian Coulston, John Leckie, John Anderson and Chris Hamilton were beaten in the County Cup Final at Cochrane Castle on Friday night. Congratulations to the four for reaching the final. Extended thanks go to Ian Meechan and Thomas Rogers who also took part in some capacity in the tournament.

2/9/2011 - Members are reminded that All Guests MUST be signed in when visiting the clubhouse. The sign in book is situated in the front entrance. We appreciate members cooperation in this matter.

8/2011 - It is with regret, I announce the death of member, Mr Hugh Carberry. Funeral arrangements are Monday 5th September 9.30am, at St Laurences Roman Catholic Church Drumpchapel. Our thoughts are with the family at this sad time.

011 - Due to Thunder and Lightning and heavy rain the Charity Pro-Am was postponed after 9 holes. The event is now rescheduled for Friday 30th September 2011. Tee Times to be advised. A big thank you to everyone who took part and for their generous donations at the auction. The final figure raised will be published on the website as soon as possible.

08/2011 - The Greens will be hollow cored as of the week beginning Monday 12th September 2011. This is following the advice given from the STRI that coring and sanding should only be carried out while there is growth. This is recommended for the start of September to guarantee this to be 100% effective. We appreciate the member’s cooperation and understanding during this period.

25/08/2011 - We are hosting a Charity Pro-Am tomorrow in aid of CHAS. The tee is booked for a 1pm shotgun and the course will be closed however if members do go and play in the morning, they must be off the course strictly by 12.30pm at the latest. Thank you for you co-operation.

22/08/2011 - Well done to all who took part in our hugely successful Championship Day on Saturday. A big thanks go to the Match Committee for organising this event. Particular congratulations go to our winners on the day.

Paul Alexander succeeded in retaining his Club Championship crown when adding a 68 to his morning round of 73. John Dougall was again runner up, when his eagle, birdie finish pushed Gavin Stirling into third place.

Craig Connolly collected the Handicap Plate when his excellent nett 68 surpassed long time leader Willie Renfrew.

In the Ladies Silver Division Liz Hale won a close fought contest by beating reigning Champion Christine Wilson on the 18th. Meanwhile Marlene Hamilton won the Bronze Division with a 3&2 victory over Allison Anderson.

New Junior Club Champion Alistair McNaughton won a thrilling contest, with a birdie at the last to add a 75 to his earlier 81. This was just enough for a two stroke win and force Mark McGrory into second place.

02/08/2011 - Andrew McCord has once again excelled himself. This time winning the under 15 category in yesterday’s Cathcart Castle Junior Open. Well done Andrew.

30/07/2011 - Congratulations to Caldwell club champion Paul Alexander on reaching the quarter-finals (round 6) of the Scottish Amateur Championship. This is a excellent achievement for Paul, only narrowly losing out to Daniel Kay of Dunbar Golf Club in a very low scoring match.

28/07/2011 - Well done to thirteen year old Andrew McCord on winning the Fereneze Junior Open yesterday. Andrew is a regular on the course and practice area and it is great to see his enthusiasm being rewarded.

26/07/2011 - Congratulations to Caldwell member Sean Burns on winning the Haggs Castle Junior Open last week. Fourteen year old Sean carded a nett 67 to pip team-mate Kyle Hamilton on countback, and with our Junior Captain, Scott Wright, only one stroke further back, Caldwell was strongly represented on the leaderboard. Well done to all.

11/07/2011 - The Board wishes to say a huge thank you to all members who took the time and trouble to return the satisfaction survey forms. Your participation is very much appreciated and some of the comments are very detailed indeed. Analysis of the results will be available in August. The lucky winner of the Titleist Vokey wedge, drawn by the Captain, was George Searl. Congratulations George and hope your handicap comes tumbling down as a result!

16/02/2011 Junior Girls Golf at Caldwell At present we have about 15 girls who come along for coaching. 10 of the girls are members. We meet on Saturdays 1pm – 2pm.Our Club Professional, Craig Everett, takes the coaching assisted by Elizabeth Hale (level one coach) and two of our lady members. Our aim is to give the girls a standard of golf that will allow them to enjoy playing the game , enjoy the competition and to enjoy the social side of golf. Equipment is not necessary and we welcome complete beginners as well as those with some experience. Non members are welcome and there is a small fee for the coaching. 15/06/2011 Divot Bags - Members are requested to return the divot bag after each round. Additional bags have been purchased however for this to continue members have to assit in returning these.

15/06/2011 White Tees - The play from the white tees is now permitted until the end of August.

14/06/2011 The number of un-repaired pitchmarks is on the increase and we would like to remind all golfers to look out for and repair their mark.

02/06/2011 During June, your Board is conducting a short survey on various aspects of being a member at Caldwell. The survey form has been sent by email to anyone who has used the BRS system to book a tee time. If you have not used the BRS system and would like the survey sent to you electronically, then please email caldwellsurvey@btinternet.com . Paper copies are also available in the ladies and gents locker room and in the lounges. Your co-operation is very much appreciated.

06/05/2011 Carpark - The parking of vans is no longer allowed in the main carpark. Please can you use the upper carpark.

05/04/2011 White Medal Tees - No play is permitted from the medal tees out with competition medals.

05/04/2011 More than 200 trees ( birch, rowan,ash,oak and alder) have been planted on the course in the last few weeks.The majority have been planted at the 7th hole with some also planted between holes 9 and 10.

25/03/2011 The Fixture Diary is available for collection at the Bar.

22/03/2011 Play will be from Winter tees Monday to Friday. This due to snow mould, tees will benefit greatly from another few weeks growth. We purchased 100 divot bags last year, which have been a huge success . Unfortunately we only have 21 remaining. Can everyone please check their lockers and golf bags and return any divot bags to Kenny Morrison. We have had many failed campaigns trying to get members to repair their pitchmarks on the greens. Can I ask every member to PLEASE repair your pitchmarks and take pride and care of your course.

07/03/2011 JUNIOR GIRLS GOLF The Junior Girls Coaching starts up again on Saturday 9th April 1.00pm – 2.00pm. All girls are welcome ages 8 – 18 years. The girls do not have to be members and clubs etc can be supplied. On 9th April from 10.30 am – 3.30 pm there will be a baking table in the Family Room with home made goodies made by the ladies in the Club. We are hoping that you will buy the baking for your coffee/tea that day to help raise funds for the Juniors on the practice area. There will also be a Board with a grid at the Bar in the Lounge - £1 per square. Nice bottle of Whisky for the winner.

02/03/2011 With immediate effect ALL areas formerly defined as plantations are now in play. Consequently players MUST find their ball otherwise it shall be regarded as lost. (Rule 27). Full details of the Rule can be founfd on the club notice boards.

21/07/2010 LOCAL RULES REMINDER :- Immovable obstructions - paths on course. All astroturf and gravel paths on the course at Caldwell are immovable obstructions and relief must be taken under Rule 24-2 of the Rules of Golf. Failure to take proper relief will result in penalty :-

Matchplay - loss of hole.

Strokeplay - two strokes.

24/06/2010 Caldwell Golf Club is delighted to announce that it will host a PGA Young Professional Event on 9th and 10th September. The event will consist of the professional playing 36 holes on the 9th and then 18 holes in a PRO-AM format on the 10th. Anyone interested in entering a team into the PRO-AM can receive further details from Chris Currie on 01505 850616 or directly at the club shop.

09/06/2010 As a courtesy to other members could owners of large vehicles/vans please consider using the upper carpark.

04/06/2010 The Board of Directors have amended the Dress Code Policy at the club. The main change is that denims and trainers are now allowed in the main lounge. Please see the main notice board for full details. 25/05/10 The Gents Invitational Fourball competition (member and guest) takes place this year on Sunday 4 July. Entry forms are available from each bar area in the clubhouse. Members please note that entry forms will only be accepted and times allocated along with the required entry fee.

The members section will have all the links you will require to view the "Membership book" - "Howdidido" - and the new online "Tee-booking system"(BRSGolf). The link is active but not yet deployed. You can register in preparation if you have the number on your members card handy. More news on this soon.

09/04/10 Test message - There is a new carpet in the locker room. The lounge carpet has suffered after recent cleaning and remedial action is imminent.

02/04/10 Test message - Hollow tining to allow aeration has started on the greens. Hopefully the April showers will wash in the sand - preferably at night.
